About Me


Candace Denison has been involved in the not-for-profit sector for ten years.  Her background includes experience and education in fundraising, communications, event planning, as well as volunteer and office management.

Candace is passionate about serving the community by volunteering with several non-profits including Big Brothers / Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, and the 99’s (an association for female pilots).  When she isn’t working or volunteering you can often find her improving her skills in various workshops and courses, skiing or bicycling along scenic trails, and flying herself to exotic locations.

Develops and builds relationships with community businesses, plans and executes corporate sponsorship programs, develops and manages all direct mail fundraising programs, maintains donor recognition programs, and issues tax receipts.


Attends community events, meetings, and conferences to promote organizational goals and solicit donations or sponsorships.


Designs and produces materials such as annual reports, posters, websites, and newsletters to promote, market, or advertise fundraising events. Writes speeches, press releases, and other promotional materials to increase awareness of the causes, missions, and goals of organizations.

Event Planning

Maintains, organizes, and manages fundraisers and special events from concept to completion, ensuring they operate smoothly, efficiently, and generate maximum revenue and exposure.


Cultivates and expands sponsorship development and fulfillment. Writes, submits and follows-up to ensure placement on press releases and stories to established contacts with local and regional media.  Broadens social networking to benefit the organization.


Manage all aspects of volunteer committees and volunteer coordination, including but not limited to, staffing, recruitment, supervision, training and acknowledgement.
